GP: Things to take note of...
This is for the benefit of those who missed GP lesson today, and also for those who have not finished their holiday homework.

Our GP tutor is Mdm Madihah (Sure hope I got the spelling correct)
For those who failed to submit the holiday homework today, the deadline is this coming Monday. Please get it ready by then. For those who handed in but it's incomplete, please finish up the rest, especially if you only have a few more to go. For those who need an extension, please discuss with Mdm Madihah and kindly inform me that you've gotten an extension. It would be nice to know when your new deadline is to facilitate my job.
Please remember that everybody has to pay $15 by this coming Tuesday. If possible, please pass the money to me tomorrow, Friday, 5th of January. The weekend usually makes people forget the things that have to be done. I'll be smsing all of you later anyways, so no excuse to forget.

If my hearing serves me well, I think we will be having a timed assignment this coming Tuesday. However, I'm not sure whether it's composition we having or comprehension.

Okay, for the things that have to be done for GP.

Time Scrapbook (As the name suggests, get a scrapbook. This is not to be done on foolscap paper) [To be done WEEKLY]
From the TIME magazines that we will be receiving, choose one article of substantial content and quality (this is to help us to comment anyways) and write approximately one full page of comments without leaving lines. Include the Date of Issue and Page Number(s). If you want, you may also choose to, IN ADDITION to the above-mentioned, photocopy/cut out and paste the article into the scrapbook.

GP File (Please remove all the stuff from last year and keep it somewhere else. This file is now to be used for J2 stuff exclusively)
Things to include/take note of(some stuff can be merged e.g. Assignments and Corrections)
1. Contents Page
2. Assignments
3. Corrections (for essays and comprehensions)
4. Publications and Tasks included in them (Duly completed)
5. Handouts/Notes/Research(including your own)
6. Wordbank (more details below)
7. TIME Worksheets (you don't have to complete them unless Mdm Madihah instructs you to. However, it is compulsory to file in the worksheets!)

Wordbank (to be done on foolscap paper and filed in GP file)
1. Find new words from what you read
2. Find the meaning(s)
3. Construct sentences with the new words

One last thing from Mdm Madihah
When one is late for lessons, enter from the FRONT DOOR. Following which, GARP. Greet the teacher, Apologise to the teacher, state your Reasons and Promise not to do it again.

One last thing from me. I apologise for any inconvenience caused by the reminder with regards to holiday homework. Please understand that I am only trying to do my job as a GP rep. I would have reminded her all the same even if I had failed to do my work. (Contrary to what some of you might want to believe, I do not enjoy seeing others get into trouble for not doing their work. In any case, I have been at the receiving end of not doing my homework so I know it only too well.) It's a matter of upholding one's principals and beliefs and being responsible. I haven't finished my holiday homework for some other subjects and I will be honest about it. If all of you remember, I owned up during Chemistry Tutorial for not having completed my Carboxylic Acids Tutorial. It would be ideal to not suffer from lapses in judgement, but seeing that we're all only human, we tend to err. When we do, we have to take responsibility for our actions. (Remember what Mdm Madihah said about responsibility.)

If you don't like my no-nonsence style of handling matters, feel free to take over my role as GP rep. I set out to do my job well, but if it does not find favour with people and this causes any unhapiness, it would be better for me to step down.

Here's all the best to A levels. There is still some time to the examinations, but times flies and I'm sure all of you know it only too well. Consistent effort and hardwork is most important when it comes to languages such as GP.
