NYGH Integrated Programme Sec 3 Biology Term 3 Common Test 1 2004

You will see hilarious answers provided by this particular NYGH candidate (now studying in Hwa Chong under the Apollo faculty). Despite of the presumably lack in time, she still can find time to show her wit on this paper and score a decent 46/70, which translate to a B3 grade, for this test.

Read her answers on how relative humidity affected the results on the change in colour of dry cobalt chloride paper. Then, read her last part on her analogy to her answer.

Take a close look at her legends for the diagrams showing the distribution of red dye in various parts of the stem. First time I see people have such casual legends.

Now, take a look at her answer on what would happen to the plant if all its leaves were to be plucked before the experiment. Look at the last line of her answer.

Last but not least, take a look at her answer for an essay question. Look at the last word of her essay. Also, if you ever notice, look at what words did she cancel in her essay. It would be helpful to appreciate the lameness in why she cancelled out those words if you know that the essay question is as follows:

A new slimming drug "VerySlim" has recently gained popularity among the weight conscious. Extract from its product information shows that its active ingredients include any amylast inhibitor and a lipase inhibitor.

a. Suggest how this product could reduce obesity in combination with frequent aerobic exercise. [6]
